Full Abstract:	Flat tongue playing is compared to the no pressing technique (with the tongue applied to the palate). A study of mouthpiece pressure on the lips reveals notable differences between these techniques, particularly a maximal pressure of 3 kg in the first case and 0.5 kg in the second. The latter technique may help prevent lip and dental problems in trumpet players.
